Textiles & Quality
In most products, we use textiles that are handwoven with Ambar Charkha spun cotton yarn. For few collections, we also work with handwoven fabric with mill-made yarn. The details would be mentioned in the product page.
Though our textiles are pre-shrunk, one should keep room for 2% shrinkage while fitting/buying.
Handwoven cotton fabrics become softer with every wash.
The handwoven fabrics’ imperfections are a proof of its handcrafted origin.
Most of our textiles involve dyeing the yarn before weaving. Few are dyed at fabric or apparel stage.
We often use natural dyes for printing & dyeing. Some natural dyed products may fade over a period of time or bleed slightly. Natural dyes will have muted tones and minor shade variation.
We also use Azo free chemical dyes and pigments for printing & dyeing with responsible disposal of treated waste. We make conscious efforts to minimize use of water & chemicals in our processes.
We use direct block prints and resist dye techniques with wooden blocks. We have also worked with Tie & dye method in traditional Lehariya patterns and modern Shibori.
The print might have slight irregularities in the motif & colours which results from the human involvement in the process.
